Tour Program

Day 1Sunday

Upon arrival to airport meet our representative and transfer to hotel in Tel Aviv for an overnight

Day 2Monday - Tel Aviv – Beer Sheba - Masada - Dead Sea

Leave Tel Aviv – via Ashdod, Ashkelon to Beersheba for a short visit to the Negev capital on your first day of touring in The Israel Must See Sights & The Jordanian Gems Tour.

Continue via Arad to Masada. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, Herod’s palaces, the

synagogue, bathhouse, etc. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea.

Descend for a possible “float” in the in the salty water of the world’s lowest place. Via Ein Gedi & Kalya, proceed to Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 3Tuesday - Jerusalem - sightseeing of the new city

Drive to Mt. Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. On to the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue to Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous

Dead Sea scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad Vashem (the memorial to the six

million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust). Afternoon visit to Ein Karem (the birth place of John the Baptist). Return to Hotel.

Day 4WEDNESDAY - Jerusalem - (Old City) – Bethlehem

Walk through one of the Gates to the walled Old City: the renewed Jewish Quarter; the Western Wall, the Temple area; the colorful bazaars; Via Dolorosa and the stations of the cross,

ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Drive to Mt. Zion and visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. In the afternoon continue to Bethlehem* to

visit the Church of the Nativity and return to Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 5THURSDAY - Beit Shean - Tiberias - Galilee

Leave Jerusalem and drive north via Jericho*, the oldest city in the world, through the Jordan Valley and the new settlements to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved

Roman City. Proceed to Tiberias, the old center of Jewish learning. Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to a Kibbutz hotel for overnight.

Day 6FRIDAY - Upper Galilee and Golan Heights - Nazareth

Drive to the Golan Heights. Visit the former Syrian fortifications and the Druze villages Via Banias, source of the Jordan River. Proceed via the Hula Valley to Safed, city of the Kabala, to visit a synagogue and the artists’ colony and then to Nazareth to visit the Christian Holy Sites.

Return to the Kibbutz hotel for overnight.

Day 7SATURDAY - Acre - Haifa - Tel Aviv

After Breakfast drive west to Acre for a visit of the old, famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa, for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city, including the Bahai Shrine, Persian Garden, Mount Carmel and Haifa bay.

Proceed along the coast to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress.

End the day with a short city tour of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and overnight.

Day 8SUNDAY - Hussein Bridge or (Allenby Bridge) - Jerash – Amman

Drive from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to the border crossing for procedures to enter Jordan.

Proceed to Jerash – city of the Decapolis, located about 45km north of Amman in the fertile heights of the Gilad.

Visit the ancient Roman city with colonnaded streets, the baths and the hill of the top Temple. Then drive to Amman for a city tour of the Jordanian Capital.

Overnight in Amman

Day 9MONDAY - Amman - Petra

After early breakfast, leave the hotel and travel south on the road to Wadi Musa where you will continue The Israel Must See Sights & The Jordanian Gems Tour.

Ride on horseback to the “Siq” (canyon) and then on foot to Petra known as “Sela Edom” or red rock city, the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd century B.C. to 2nd Century A.D.

Visit the most interesting monuments, such as the Treasury, El Khazneh, the field of tombs, obelisks and the altar, (Al Madhbah) – from this point you can view the whole of the rock city.

Then back to Wadi Musa for overnight.

Day 10TUESDAY - Petra - Madaba - Mount Nebo - Jerusalem - Tel Aviv

Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland and ruins of historical sites.

Continue about 10 kms. to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land.

From there you will see the Jordan Valley, Jericho and the Dead Sea, etc. Visit the remains of a Byzantine church with a mosaic floor, and then drive to the border and transfer back to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv for overnight.

Day 11WEDNESDAY – Departure

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for departure. This is the end of The Tour.
