The Citadel was until by Salah Eldin around 1183 AD to defend his armies against the Crusaders armies and to became the center of his of his government in Egypt for about 700 years until Khedive Ismail moved the government center to Abdin Palace.

Then you will visit Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque which is one of the historical landmarks of Egypt as it stands proudly on the highest point inside The Citadel Of Saladin. It was founded by Mohammed Ali Pasha 1805 AD.
